Szafnauer reveals the wild origin story of Force India’s pink livery

Few Formula 1 liveries have become as instantly recognizable as Force India’s pink cars, but according to former team boss Otmar Szafnauer, their famous transformation was born from a nerve-racking gamble that could easily have backfired spectacularly. The Silverstone-based outfit stunned the paddock ahead of the 2017 season by abandoning its traditional Indian flag colors cherished by team owner Vijay Mallya and rolling out a bright pink machine, the vibrant signature of new title sponsor Best Water Technology.
