Alonso reportedly set for sensational Dakar return in 2027

Just when paddock observers thought the two-time Formula 1 World Champion might spend his winter relaxing, the Spanish icon is preparing to swap glass-smooth tarmac for towering sand dunes. A report this week from Spanish website SoyMotor.com says that Alonso has agreed to make a sensational return to the legendary Dakar Rally, taking on the world’s ultimate wilderness endurance test in Saudi Arabia behind the wheel of an Aston Martin-bodied T1+ monster built by Prodrive.
