Singapore setback: Russell set for grid penalty at Marina Bay

George Russell’s championship ambitions have been dealt another following the Mercedes driver’s devastating, late-race power unit breakdown in last weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix. Following that costly DNF, it appears that Mercedes has opted to add a new PU to the Briton’s pool of hardware, which would trigger a hefty grid penalty for the Singapore Grand Prix. The setback leaves the 28-year-old Briton facing an uphill battle beneath the floodlights of Marina Bay, severely threatening his already gloomy prospects of keeping pace with Silver Arrows teammate and championship...
