Petrov a bit unwell in Japan

Vitaly Petrov is unwell ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix weekend although the Caterham driver reported that he felt a bit better on Thursday. The Russian mentioned on his Twitter page, when he arrived he Japan on Wednesday, that he would be seeking treatment for his health. Although his condition improved the following day, it is however unclear whether the 28-year-old, suffering from a bit of a cold, will recover to be fit enough for the race at Suzuka. Meanwhile, reserve driver Giedo van der Garde is planned to drive in the first free practice session on Friday by replacing Heikki Kovalainen, in what is the Dutch driver’s second such outing since China earlier this season.
