Interlagos negotiating for F1 beyond 2014
Sao Paulo officials say they have started negotiations with Formula 1 chief Bernie Ecclestone to keep the Brazilian Grand Prix at Interlagos beyond 2014. Officials said Ecclestone has requested a series of changes, including transferring the paddock and pit areas to the back stretch to better accommodate the teams. 'Ecclestone liked the project that we showed him,' Sao Paulo Mayor Gilberto Kassab said. 'We will continue our negotiations in January.' New mayor Eduardo Haddad, who will take office next year, said he would like to reach a long-term agreement with Ecclestone to keep the race at Interlagos.
