French Grand Prix ruled out for 2013

The 2013 Formula 1 calendar will not feature a French Grand Prix, national newspaper L'Équipe has claimed. The Fédération Française du Sport Automobile (FFSA) set a deadline of Tuesday 29 November to receive applications for a race, with neither Paul Ricard or Magny Cours coming forward with proposals to host an event. With the next World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) meeting set to take place in Istanbul next month, there was not enough time for either of the two aforementioned circuits to finalise deals.
