Silverstone learns lessons of 2012 British GP

Silverstone has announced additional investment in its infrastructure in a bid to avoid a repeat of the weather-related issues that affected the 2012 British Grand PrixHeavy rain in the run-up to the event saw campsites closed, car parks flooded and led a back-log of traffic that made it difficult for fans to reach the circuit for Friday practice.As a result of the problems, around 10,000 fans heeded advice from the circuit to stay away on Saturday, leading to Silverstone paying out refunds at a cost of £1 million.In an effort to avoid similar problems in future, Silverstone has now announced a series of plans which will see it work to improve infrastructure at the circuit while also...
