Jerez test provides first taste of new Pirellis
The eleven F1 teams will get their first taste of Pirelli's 2013-spec tyres as the opening test of the year kicks off at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit in southern Spain.Although the teams had a chance to sample the new construction during free practice at last year's Brazilian Grand Prix, the opening group test of the new season will be the first time that they get to try out the complete new range, together with the latest-specification compounds.The key characteristics that the teams will notice about the 2013 tyres are a bigger performance gap between the compounds and faster overall lap times, by approximately half a second per lap.
