Toro Rosso eyes Renault engines for '14

Toro Rosso is hoping to split from current engine suppliers Ferrari for the 2014 season, with the squad eyeing up Renault's turbocharged V6 units. Ahead of a major overhaul to the sport's technical regulations, Team Principal Franz Tost says his team is close to a deal with the  manufacturer, but insists that nothing has been signed. "It is our target to have the same engine as Red Bull, to use the synergies that are possible from the regulations" Tost explained at Jerez on Tuesday.
