Marussia's new F1 car sign of team keen to lead

Russian-owned Marussia says it has evolved its new Formula 1 car by using wind-tunnel technology for the first time and successfully incorporated a key power-boosting system. Technical director Pat Symonds says the new Cosworth-powered MR02 unveiled on Tuesday is an upgrade on last season with the Kinetic Energy Recovery System. Symonds says the aim this season is to finish ahead of rival Caterham again. The former Renault technical chief says, 'We have KERS now, so it's a realistic goal to stay ahead of them this year.' Much work has also gone into improving stability, he adds. British rookie Max Chilton is the team's only confirmed driver this season.
