Mercedes has new deal to supply Force India

Mercedes says it will supply Formula 1 team Force India with complete power units under a new long-term deal that will start in 2014 with new regulations. Mercedes has supplied engines to Force India since 2009 and will include the supply of gearbox and hydraulic systems as well as the Energy Recovery System under the new agreement. Vijay Mallya, team principal and managing director of Force India, says the deal 'is the most significant in the history' of his team. Mallya says the agreement 'gives us the long-term stability we require and will enable us to continue our journey toward the front of the Formula 1 grid.'
