Alonso remains coy over Allison rumours

Fernando Alonso has refused to confirm whether or not Ferrari is actively chasing James Allison to bolster its technical line-up ahead of the 2014 campaign, but admits that the acclaimed engineer is "one of the top men" in the Formula 1 paddock. Allison, whose resignation from Lotus was announced on Wednesday, has been heavily linked with a return to the famous marque, having spent a five year spell at Maranello from 2000. The Cambridge graduate also played a key role in Alonso's title successes in 2005 and 2006, when the pair were united in Renault colours.
