Pirelli wants further testing for tyres

Pirelli wants more tests to be staged in the future to avoid the issues that have arisen in the early stages of the Formula 1 season, with a series of complaints over durability leading the manufacturer to make changes for the Canadian Grand Prix onwards. A total of three, four-day tests were held in the run up to the 2013 campaign, but Pirelli Motorsport Director Paul Hembery believes that his company requires further track time if it is to accurately match predictions and adapt to the changing speed of cars. "With limited testing time, it’s clear now that our original 2013 tyre range was probably too performance-orientated for the current regulations," Hembery explained....
