Stewards refer Mercedes protest to FIA

The Monaco stewards have referred the protest against Mercedes, lodged by Red Bull and Ferrari, to the FIA, where it could be escalated to go before the International Tribunal. A meeting following the Monaco Grand Prix, which saw representatives from Red Bull, Ferrari, Mercedes and Pirelli in attendance, lasted some three hours, with a statement from the stewards confirming they were putting a report together for the FIA to review after it came to light that the German outfit conducted a 'secret' test at the request of Pirelli.
