Vettel becomes youngest driver to get 50 F1 podiums

Sebastian Vettel may not have won the Monaco Grand Prix despite Red Bull’s three successive wins at the Principality but the German driver had plenty of positives to take away from the race. The defending champion extended his lead in the standings to 21 points from Kimi Raikkonen after he finished second at Monte Carlo in what was his 50th career podium, becoming the youngest driver ever to reach the milestone. At 25, Vettel beat Fernando Alonso’s record by two years. The Spaniard had grabbed his 50th Formula 1 podium after he won the controversial Singapore Grand Prix in 2008 with Renault at the age of 27.
