Bahrain International Circuit is poised to host the opening round of the 2014 Formula One world championship, with a decision expected to be made in the coming weeks. The possibility of Bahrain hosting the first race of the season was proposed when the island welcomed F1 for the fourth round of the 2013 championship in April.
