Teams aware in 2012 that in-season testing was banned

The Pirelligate fiasco looks set to take yet another twist after it was revealed that all eleven Formula One teams were warned about in-season testing back in 2012. It transpired on Saturday evening that Mercedes had undertaken a private tyre test with Pirelli after the Spanish Grand Prix, completing 1000km at the Circuit de Catalunya. In-season testing has been banned since the end of 2012, but both Mercedes and Pirelli protested their innocence, as within Pirelli's contract it is detailed that the Italian tyre supplier can undertake a test such as this. However, the agreement also stated that this test must be offered to all eleven teams; only Mercedes were contacted....
