Williams confirms Mercedes engine deal

Williams has signed a long-term engine deal with Mercedes from 2014 onwards. The British team has been powered by Renault since the start of the 2012 season, but with the introduction of a new V6 turbo formula in 2014 it is set to switch to Mercedes power. The deal was struck over the Monaco Grand Prix weekend when high-level Mercedes representatives were spotted in the Williams motor home on Saturday night. The deal will see Mercedes supply four teams in 2014 - Mercedes, McLaren, Force India and Williams - before McLaren switches to Honda power from 2015 onwards.
