Gearbox problem hinders Button

Jenson Button reckons McLaren will be closer to the leading group in this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix but fears a gearbox problem in FP2 has put him on the back foot. Button was ninth quickest in the second of the 90 minute sessions but was forced to halt his long run due to a gearbox issue. 'I think we’re a little nearer to the front than we’ve been in the past – the times are very close – but it’ll be the usual front-running cars who set the pace this weekend,' he said. 'We needed everything to be reliable today, but I only managed three laps on my high-fuel run before I had a problem with the gearbox.
