D-Day for Merc, Pirelli and Brawn

The saga now affectionately known as 'Tire-gate' will finally come to a head on Thursday as Mercedes brace themselves to face the FIA Tribunal. It all started on the morning of the Monaco Grand Prix, when news emerged that Mercedes had held a secret tyre test at the Barcelona circuit after the Spanish GP, a test that involved not only their drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, but their 2013 car. F1 regulations forbid teams from testing during the season with a current car or one from the previous season and at a track used in the championship.
