'Whiting is the go-to reference'

Ross Brawn believes Charlie Whiting is the "go-to reference" for any sporting matter in F1 and thus deemed Merc's Pirelli test to be legal. Brawn faced the FIA's lawyer during Thursday's International Tribunal in Paris, answering questions about Mercedes' post-Spanish GP three-day test with Pirelli. The team boss insisted that the outing, during which Mercedes covered 1000kms in their W04, had not given his team a competitive advantage over their rivals. "I don't see how," he said.
