Henry Surtees karting event raises £58,000

An estimated £58,000 was raised for the Henry Surtees Foundation during the 'Henry Surtees Brooklands Team Challenge' kart event at Mercedes-Benz World on Tuesday. The meeting, this year staged for the second time, is organised in memory of the late Henry Surtees, who lost his life during a Formula 2 race at Brands Hatch in 2009. Established racers including Mercedes reserve driver Sam Bird and McLaren GT3 star Alexander Sims were in attendance, taking part in the headline two-hour kart race won by Team Avago's Ross Wylie, David Sutton, Edward Brand and Sennan Fielding.
