Todt calls emergency meeting over tyres

Jean Todt, President of Formula 1 governing body the FIA, has requested that Pirelli attends a meeting of the Sporting Working Group on Wednesday, with a view to finding a solution for the spate of tyre failures suffered during the British Grand Prix. During Sunday's race at Silverstone, Lewis Hamilton, Felipe Massa, Jean-Éric Vergne and Sergio Pérez all endured left-rear tyre blow-outs, prompting the majority of drivers to raise safety concerns ahead of the German Grand Prix next weekend.
