Pirelli feel tyres are safe to race

Paul Hembery believes the changes Pirelli have wrought this weekend will make for a "safe" German Grand Prix. Pirelli came in for some serious criticism in the wake of the British GP, which saw several drivers suffer tyre failures. Such was the concern that drivers threatened to boycott this weekend's race unless changes were made, which have been. Pirelli have not only introduced the Kevlar-belted tyres that the drivers tested in Canada, making "1000 something like that" tyres in 48 hours, but they have also banned tyre swapping and set new pressure and camber limits.
