Vettel 'tried everything' to get pole

Sebastian Vettel said he "tried everything" to beat Lewis Hamilton to pole position at the German Grand Prix but still came up short. Vettel set his fastest lap of the weekend at the end of qualifying but Hamilton still beat him to the top spot by 0.103s on his last attempt. The Red Bull is expected to have the edge over the Mercedes in Sunday's race, but Vettel said he still could not match the W04 in qualifying.
