Mercedes seeks FIA approval to participate in YDT

Jo Soucek writes:It emerged today that Mercedes has asked the FIA for permission to participate in the third day of the upcoming Young Driver Test at Silverstone, the day on which race drivers will be able to do tyre testing work. This is a more complicated situation than it appears on the surface.It is understood Ross Brawn feels permission is unlikely because the penalty handed down by the International Tribunal was specific about three days. However, there are two other elements in the wording of the verdict that work in Mercedes favour.
