Mercedes' strong form wasn't expected, admits Schumacher

Michael Schumacher admitted that he didn’t expect Mercedes to improve radically this season, considering the performances of the car in the latter half of the 2012 campaign. The seven-time world champion retired from Formula 1 last year, in what was a disappointing comeback to the sport wherein he just clinched a single podium in three years. That was enough for the German to believe that the car wouldn’t make any significant gains this season, only to be proven wrong. “Where we ended last year, I think it is a surprise to see them now where they are.
