'Valencia in talks to cancel race contract'

Valencia, the host of the European Grand Prix from 2008 to 2012, is attempting to officially cancel its Formula 1 race contract, according to reports in the Spanish Media. The city had been due to alternate with the Circuit de Catalunya as the location for the Spanish Grand Prix from 2014 onwards. However, the El Mundo newspaper reports that an agreement was never signed, with the Barcelona venue already selling tickets. In addition, Diario Sport claims that the only talks between Valencia officials and Bernie Ecclestone have been focused on breaking the contract.
