Tost affirms confidence in Vergne

Scuderia Toro Rosso team principal Franz Tost has once again affirmed his confidence in Jean-Eric Vergne despite the Frenchman's snub by Red Bull. Vergne was originally shortlisted for Mark Webber's vacant seat at the team next season along with teammate Daniel Ricciardo and Lotus' Kimi Raikkonen, but Christian Horner confirmed last month that he was no longer a consideration due to a lack of experience. Tost supported this reasoning, admitting that Vergne was a very talented driver. 'Jean-Eric is a driver who works very well and has a lot of skill.
