Vandoorne boosted by McLaren partnership

By Phillip Horton on Friday, August 23, 2013 Stoffel Vandoorne says being supported by McLaren has been a huge boost to his chances of racing in Formula 1 in the future. Vandoorne, currently second in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series, recently joined McLaren's young driver programme. Vandoorne, making his first paddock appearance with McLaren, spoke to the media on Friday evening in Belgium. 'I’m here as a guest of McLaren, just following the Formula 1 world and trying to make contacts in this world as everyone knows it’s difficult,' he said.
