Spa officials pinpoint cause of tyre failures
"true">Belgian Grand Prix race officials believe that they have located the cause of the tyre failures that occurred during yesterday’s practice sessions, having found a piece of heavy metal in the kerbs at Turn 13. Both Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso suffered punctures on Friday close to where the debris was discovered. With Pirelli insisting that the failures were the result of ‘outside factors’, concerned drivers have now said that they will accept the explanation given by the sport’s sole tyre supplier in light of the evidence.
