Jean Todt has confirmed that he will stand for re-election as FIA president against challenger David Ward. It had been expected that Todt would stand for re-election ever since it was announced that David Ward would contest for FIA presidency, but there was no official announcement.
Ward, who resigned from his role as FIA Foundation director general to contest Todt, recently outlined his intentions in a document titled 'Agenda for Change' that was posted on his website, with 'effectiveness' and 'accountability' being two main slogans for his campaign.
There was also the possibility that Todt would not contest Ward, but he has now officially confirmed his intentions in the Monza paddock....
