Although Carlos Sainz jr is dreaming of an F1 drive he concedes that is for the distant future, not the here and now.
Earlier this week, Toro Rosso team boss Franz Tost denied that Spaniard was in line for a 2014 seat with Red Bull's junior F1 team.
"I believe that Carlos is missing two seasons [before he gets an F1 seat] as I do not believe you should get into Formula One before 20. Nor expect too much from them," he told Marca.
"Carlos has to continue competing in lower formulas, win, grow and then wait to make the leap."
Tost's comments have not come as a surprise or a disappointment to Sainz jr who himself believes he needs more time.
