Grosjean tyre gamble pays off

Romain Grosjean was quick to praise Lotus after a tyre gamble during qualifying for the Singapore Grand Prix helped him on his way to third place on the grid for Sunday's race. The Frenchman was the only driver apart from Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber to stay on the medium tyre in the opening session rather than switch to the faster supersoft.
