Webber pays dearly for Alonso taxi ride

Fernando Alonso may have done Mark Webber a favour by giving him a lift in Singapore, but it has cost the latter dearly. Webber was running in fourth position and still in the hunt for a possible podium place when he was forced to park his Red Bull at Turn 7 on the penultimate at the Marina Bay street circuit after smoke started coming out of the back of his car. He was then given a lift back to the pits by Fernando Alonso, who finished second behind Sebastian Vettel, with the Australian sitting on the side of the Spaniard's Ferrari on the lift back to the garage.
