The Brazilian Grand Prix's future has been secured until at least 2022 and will remain at its current home, the 2.7 mile Interlagos circuit. However, a key condition to the contract extension is the construction of a new pit and paddock complex which will be located on the long second straight between the third and fourth corners on the current layout.
Construction of the new development is due to begin next year and is expected to be completed in time for the 2015 round.
F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone met with Sao Paulo mayor Fernando Haddad on Wednesday to sign the new contract, which will see the Brazilian Grand Prix remain on the calendar for the next seven seasons.
