Pic hit with drive-through penalty

Charles Pic will enter Sunday afternoon's Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka with a drive-through penalty that must be served within the opening five laps of the race. The Caterham driver was found guilty of leaving the pit lane when the red light was displayed in qualifying, just after Jean-Éric Vergne's session-stopping brake fire. As a breach of Article 31.3 of the sporting regulations, and the fact that it is the second event in a row that Pic has committed the offence, he has been handed the penalty. Pic is set to start the race from the back row after picking up a grid drop in Korea.
