Renault sets new record for number of poles

Mark Webber's pole position in his Renault-powered Red Bull at Suzuka on Saturday in qualifying for this weekend's means that the engine manufacturer has now been behind a total of 209 successful bids for the top spot on the grid in the whole of F1.That's more than any other engine provider in the sport's history, breaking a tie with Ferrari on 208 that was set after Korea last weekend."It is tempting to say this is just a number, but it is a source of immense pride for everyone at Renault," said Renault Sport F1 deputy managing director Rob White.
