Nigel Mansell has labelled Formula One's weight limit "disgraceful", saying this is F1 not horse racing.
Although next year the sport's minimum weight limit is set to increase, the extra 42kgs will go towards the new V6 engines and the Energy Recovery Systems.
And with news that teams are struggling to get down to the 690kgs, there are fears that heavier taller drivers will be excluded from the sport.
"It's wrong. They [the drivers] are not jockeys," former World Champ Mansell said an interview with the BBC.
"It's disgraceful, it's discrimination against the medium-sized large driver.
"In years gone by, we didn't have traction control or power steering...
