Sauber has confirmed that one of its mechanics picked up a hairline toe fracture after being hit by Nico Hülkenberg's car during final practice for the Indian Grand Prix. The incident occurred at the halfway mark of the shortened, 30 minute session, with Hülkenberg rear-right wheel clipping the mechanic's feet while returning to his pit box. Having been able to get back on his feet with the help of his colleagues, the mechanic was taken for medical checks following which the toe fracture has been confirmed. Despite the injury, he will resume pit lane duties for this afternoon's qualifying hour.
