Kvyat secures GP3 title with win

GP3 Media Service 2014 Toro Rosso driver Daniil Kvyat secured the GP3 championship after an emphatic victory at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. Kvyat started the race from pole position and was never troubled, eventually winning the race from 4.6s in spite of an early safety car period. The result means that Kvyat has an insurmountable lead over erstwhile championship leader Facu Regalia with just Sunday's sprint race remaining. Kvyat will test a Formula 1 car next week in order to secure his super licence. The Russian will then participate in the 90 minute opening practice session for Toro Rosso in America and Brazil.
