Former GP2 Champion Davide Valsecchi is refusing to give up on his hopes of securing a Formula One drive for the 2014 season. Valsecchi, the 2012 GP2 Champion, has spent this season as Lotus’ reserve driver, but has found his running restricted to just a number of demonstration runs and a single days testing at the Young Driver Test at Silverstone, back in July. Despite not racing in 2013, the Italian is adamant that he would be able to deliver in F1 based on his prior performances and experience, but did confess that his chances of securing a race seat for next year may be slim.
