'Safety failures led to marshal death'

Organisers of the Canadian Grand Prix have been held responsible for a sequence of safety failures that led to the death of marshal Mark Robinson after this year's race. Following Esteban Gutiérrez's late accident, Robinson was helping to transport the Sauber back to the pit lane when he tripped and fell under the wheels of a crane. Having been taken to hospital, the 38-year-old tragically succumbed to his injuries. CSST, Quebec's workplace health and safety board, has been conducting a detailed investigation into the incident, and has since found that the crane was travelling too quickly at 11 km/h (6.8 mph), while the car was also held too high at up to two metres.
