F1 2013 – Ecclestone paid team bosses $10mil each to sign 1998 Concorde agreement
During his trial at the high court this week, it was revealed that Bernie Ecclestone paid Eddie Jordan, Alain Prost and Tom Walkinshaw $10million each to sign the 1998 Concorde agreement.The telegraph reports that when Ecclestone was asked why the team bosses received this he replied 'I've no idea. They were paid to sign the Concorde Agreement and that's what they did.'What you're inferring is these people haven't been acting correctly, Alain Prost and whatever.'The guardian reports that Ecclestone was asked 'Did you regard the payment of a bribe to someone who is not a public official as something that is acceptable?'To which Ecclestone responded 'I'll have to think about that.
