Todt to run unopposed in FIA presidential election as Ward pulls out
Jean Todt, president of the world motorsport's governing body, will run unopposed for re-election next month after rival David Ward was forced to pull out.
The election is set for the General Assembly meeting on December 6th in Paris. Friday is the deadline for entering a candidate list. Ward launched his campaign, titled with a manifesto entitled ‘Agenda for Change', in August but failed to secure the required backing of 26 FIA member clubs and seven vice-presidents for Sport.
The 56-year-old was director general of the FIA's independent foundation for 12 years until he announced that he would stand against Todt in the election.
