'Räikkönen has successful operation'
Kimi Räikkönen's planned back surgery has gone ahead as planned, according to Finnish broadcaster MTV. The 32-year-old must now take four to six weeks of rest. Having flared up at the Singapore Grand Prix, Räikkönen's back complaint was due to be rectified after the season. But ahead of his return to Ferrari and amid a payment dispute with Lotus, he ultimately took the decision to bring the operation forward. On Thursday, former Grand Prix winner Heikki Kovalainen was named as Räikkönen's replacement for the final two races of the current campaign at Austin and Interlagos.
