Prac Two: Vettel hits the front

Sebastian Vettel proved to be the one to beat around the Circuit of the Americas in FP2, quickly on long runs, short runs and both compounds. Having lost time in the first session, the drivers were quickly into the action with new Lotus signing Heikki Kovalainen posting a 1:40.335 to get the timesheets moving. The Finn soon lost out to his team-mate Romain Grosjean as Lotus led the early running ahead of Adrian Sutil and Jenson Button. It was all change when Sebastian Vettel ventured out. After a slow start to the day on a heavy fuel in FP1, he came out flying in the afternoon's session and went quickest on his very first flying lap, a 1:38.352 for the reigning World Champ.
