Whitmarsh assisting Perez to find a drive for 2014

McLaren Team Principal Martin Whitmarsh has revealed that he is attempting to find Sergio Perez a seat for next season, after the Woking-based outfit made the decision to drop the Mexican earlier this week. Perez, who only joined McLaren this year, announced this week that he will be leaving the team at the end of the season, with Kevin Magnussen, the 2013 Formula Renault 3.5 champion, taking the 23-year-olds seat in the team for 2014. Whitmarsh has faced criticism from some quarters for the late nature of the announcement, which leaves Perez with a limited number of available options in Formula One for next season.
