Button hit with three-place penalty

Jenson Button has been slapped with a three-place grid penalty for the United States GP after overtaking under red flags in Friday's first practice. The opening practice at the Circuit of the Americas was shortened twice, first due to heavy fog and then again later when the red flags came out when it became apparent that the medical helicopter was not at the track. Button, who was putting in the laps when the red flag was waved, failed to adhere to the regulations and overtook another car. Called up by the stewards, the Brit was hit with a three-place grid penalty for Sunday's race. Despite the penalty, Button was reasonably pleased with the McLaren's performance during Friday's practice....
