Lewis Hamilton’s fourth place and the resultant 12 points at the United States Grand Prix must have given the recovering Kimi Raikkonen something to cheer about. The Finn opted to skip the final two races of the season to undergo surgery for his long-time back problems, forsaking the third position in the drivers’ championship that he held ahead of the weekend in Austin. Hamilton has now taken over that position relegating the Lotus driver to fourth place.
